The Loves of my Life

This Valentines Day I wanted say "I love you" to the three best boys in the world. First there is my husband, Marc, who is the lighthearted side of our relationship and keeps me from taking life too seriously. You'd think that with med school he would be all business and an overall stressed out mess. I know I would be. But somehow he does a gerat job of working hard and then finding time to enjoy life. Here is a picture of Marc doing dirt bike stunts with his brothers at the sand dunes. Crazy and carefree as he is, I know he is hoping that eventually some of that attitude will rub off on me. And while I may never be a dirt biker, Marc definitely helps me do lots of things that I would never try on my own. What a catch! Love you.

Then came Greg. Marc and I are obviously big fans as he is our offspring, but Greg is actually well liked wherever he goes. He has a natural sense of humor and says things that make us and him laugh until we are ready to pee our pants. Some times Greg literally does pee his pants when he really gets going. Adventure is Greg's middle name or at least it should have been. He went skiing again in December and loved it but just really can't undestand why he can't do snowboarding instead because according to Greg, "in snowboarding you get to go over bigger jumps".

And then there's my sweet little Caleb. He's just as handsome as the other two and he's out to prove that bald can be beautiful (he's still working on growing a full head of hair). His favorite story is about a little, messy puppy, and he likes to read it with me and then pretend that he is a puppy. He doesn't have to try very hard to master the messy part. He loves Greg and they are great play buddies. Marc teaches both of them how to wrestle each other. It's nice to know that when these boys get a little older I will have my own built in body guards highly trained in the fine arts of Ultimate Fighting.
Who knew that raising a family of boys could be so fun and so funny! I love it. Happy Valentines Day Marc, Gregors, and Caleb.
Love, Mom

Adventures in Wangsgardland!

The month of January was an adventurous one. We had some extra time off at the beginning of the month so we took a trip to my family's cabin for a few days. Of course we got started late, so we knew it would be a late night. What we didn't know was that we would be driving through a blizzard for a good part of the drive and that once we arrived there would be three feet of snow all the way from the main road up to the cabin. (I swear it's like 1/4 mile all up hill.) So at about three in the morning we rolled to a stop at the bottom of the hill an parked the car next to a huge snow drift. We then loaded the boys onto our backs and hiked up the hill to the cabin. Inside we got the heat cranked up and turned on a movie for the boys while Marc and I went back down to the car twice more to bring up our bags and other gear. Needless to say Marc and I got our work out. Here we are at about five in the morning. I think I was feeling pretty light headed from all that high altitude air I sucked in hiking up the hill. Crazy? Yes, we are. But at least we felt adventurous.

Here we are at Zion's National Park. We decided to take the long way home so we could do some sight seeing. It was beautiful but pretty cold. Greg also got very sick during this trip so we kept mostly to the warm car. When we got home and took him to the doctor the next day his lymph nodes on his neck were super swollen and he could hardly swallow. He was running a high fever and we were pretty worried about him. So, after some blood tests and a lot of stressing out, they finally called to let us know that he had mono! We don't know where he picked it up but we're sure glad he's feeling better now.
