The month of January was an adventurous one. We had some extra time off at the beginning of the month so we took a trip to my family's cabin for a few days. Of course we got started late, so we knew it would be a late night. What we didn't know was that we would be driving through a blizzard for a good part of the drive and that once we arrived there would be three feet of snow all the way from the main road up to the cabin. (I swear it's like 1/4 mile all up hill.) So at about three in the morning we rolled to a stop at the bottom of the hill an parked the car next to a huge snow drift. We then loaded the boys onto our backs and hiked up the hill to the cabin. Inside we got the heat cranked up and turned on a movie for the boys while Marc and I went back down to the car twice more to bring up our bags and other gear. Needless to say Marc and I got our work out. Here we are at about five in the morning. I think I was feeling pretty light headed from all that high altitude air I sucked in hiking up the hill. Crazy? Yes, we are. But at least we felt adventurous. Thursday, February 7, 2008
Adventures in Wangsgardland!
