Last Month Overview

October was Marc's month break from rotations. We planned ahead and tried to pack in trips with both of our families. It was a great time of year to go because the weather was so beautiful and the fall colors that we normally miss in Nevada were at their peak. Here is us pausing at Cedar Breaks on our way to the cabin to meet Marc's family.

Of course there was four wheeling and dirtbiking while we were there and to add to the fun, Greg and Caleb got to at least sit on their cousin Caden's mini-dirt bike. Here is Marc's brother Dave helping Caleb pretend to ride.

Cute shot of Greg and Caleb out on the porch with the fall colors.
A group shot on the last day there.

Next we headed up to my family's house and got ready for a trip with them. It was a real adventure! We went to Costa Rica. None of us had ever been before so it was all new and totally different than any trip I've ever been on. One of the funnest days there was spent in the mountains/jungle doing a canopy tour. They got everybody all harnessed in and then sent them on zip lines through the trees.

I was banned from the fun because of my big belly so my mom stayed back with me to watch the little babies. We got to walk along these hanging bridges and see everybody else zipping through the trees. It was awsome other than that Caleb really hated it. I guess it was a bit over the top on adventure for him.

We went to church on Sunday which was all in Spanish. Marc and I understood bits of it, but our spanish is more than a little rusty. But it was still really cool and the people were so sweet and kind to all of us.
These weird animals are called Coatis and they were really tame, coming to find food near our rooms. Greg even fed this one right from his hand.

It was a super cool trip and went by fast. Then we were back to Utah and getting into the halloween spirit. Greg was, of course, Luke Skywalker, his new favorite hero.

And Caleb was Robin Hood. They both chose what they wanted to be this year and were so excited to get into their costumes. I think they liked being in their costumes even more than the trick-or-treating, but they liked that too.

Anyway, too much to sum up in one post but it was a great month.

That was fun to have you guys out here! I love going to the cabin every year. And, you're boys look awesome in their Halloween get-up. It will be nice to have you all back for December.

So...also...on those pumpkin cookies...if you like the "orange flavor" frosting (I am still deciding if I do). Um, my mom says instead of using orange juice to use the zest of one orange. It makes more flavor. She said the orange juice does almost nothing.
